In order to provide the functionality of Enhanced Listboxes and VA Snippets, Visual Assist replaces standard IDE listboxes with its own. You can tell Visual Assist to not replace standard listboxes, but doing so disables several features of Visual Assist, including Acronyms and Shorthand.
The method of choosing listboxes varies with build of Visual Assist and programming language.
Visual Assist build 2114 and newer
Choose listboxes for C/C++ and C# via the options dialog for Visual Assist.
Visual Assist builds 1925 through 2112
Choose listboxes for C# via the options dialog for Visual Assist.
Enhanced listboxes in C/C++ are enabled by default. Tell Visual Assist not to replace standard listboxes in C/C++ by setting the following in the registry:
HKCU\Software\Whole Tomato\Visual Assist X\<IDE spec>\SuppressListboxes = 01
Set to 00 to restore default behavior in C/C++.
